Hello to all of you crochet designers and aspiring crochet designers! My name is Christine and I would like to tech edit your crochet patterns.
You have worked hard on your design. You are proud of it and are excited to share it with the world. And you should be!
One day soon someone is going to make something beautiful from your crochet pattern and you want to ensure that they don’t have any problems following it.
I know you have read your pattern over and over again and reviewed it for any possible problems. However, because you have spent so much time with your pattern baby, you are most likely now unable to see any mistakes that may be still be there.
That is why you need a tech editor, like me, to review it with fresh, unbiased eyes and find any errors that need to be corrected.
When you spend your hard-earned money on a book or magazine, you can be confident that it has been edited in many different ways by many different people in order to bring you the best reading experience possible.
Your crochet pattern and the people who will be using it, deserve this same treatment (yes, even if your pattern will be a freebie). A tech editor and your testers will ensure that you confidently release a quality product that is easy to follow and will have your customers returning to you for more patterns down the road.
Why Hire Me?
- I have been crocheting for many years on practically a daily basis. I have made everything from blankets to amigurumi to wearables. I have also designed several of my own patterns.
- I am an intermediate level crocheter and because of my experience, I am extremely familiar with reading a pattern and everything that is required to make it as accurate and amazing as it can be.
- For many years, I was a law clerk at a busy, well-known, law firm. I know what it means to work quickly while paying great attention to detail. Proofreading came with the territory as well as maintaining a level of professionalism and the highest degree of confidentiality.
- Recently, I have completed the Learn How to be a Tech Editor course from Emily Reiter of Fiat Fibre Arts which gave me even more skills to confidently edit your crochet patterns and help take them to the highest quality level.
What Will I be Doing?
As a tech editor, I will read your pattern with a fine-toothed comb and find any typos or errors. I will ensure that your style remains consistent throughout the pattern. If you have a stylesheet, I will make sure your pattern follows it.
I will check that your pattern matches your schematics and photos. In addition, I will check your stitch counts and grading calculations to ensure they are accurate.
I will do all of this and more while making sure that your voice, as the designer, remains unchanged.

Finally..
I know it sucks to have your mistakes pointed out. I know it can be deflating to see your pattern marked up with suggestions and questions. However, please remember that I will be on your team. I want you to succeed with your pattern and for crocheters to be able to make amazing projects from it and come back to you again and again.
